Terms of service

Last updated: 4 November 2026

These terms apply to the Hitchscan website and the Hitchscan Shopify app (together, “Hitchscan”). By installing or using Hitchscan, you agree to them. Questions? Email hello@hitchscan.com.

What Hitchscan does

Hitchscan audits your Shopify store once a month and gives you a report with findings, evidence and suggested fixes. Hitchscan has read-only access and never changes your store. Any change is made by you, or by someone you choose.

Price

Hitchscan is free during early access. If we ever introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you well in advance and you can decide whether to continue. Nothing will be charged without your approval through Shopify.

Your responsibilities

Our findings are guidance

We work hard to make every finding accurate and label how sure we are (Confirmed, Needs review or Opportunity). Some findings are made with AI and can be wrong, so check a finding before you act on it. Findings are recommendations, not guarantees of more sales, traffic or rankings. Hitchscan is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Hitchscan is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of Hitchscan. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Stopping

You can stop using Hitchscan at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend access if these terms are broken. We may also change or stop offering Hitchscan; if we stop, we’ll tell you in advance where we can. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data.

Shopify

Hitchscan is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify Inc. Shopify is a trademark of Shopify Inc.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email.
